Bitter cold and frigid conditions

I told you about Sterling and his family.  They were homeless and a man shot their parents a few years.  When he doesn’t know what else to do he finds me.  I gave him a shower, a clean pair of socks and a bowl of cereal. He was so grateful he swap a old pair of jeans for a clean tag-less one.

The second time someone shot both of his parents also homeless. He hide with his brother in a garage and the building owner took pity on them.  He got them shelter and a policeman to take their statement.  His father was a sex therapist who wrote the “men are from mars women are from Venus” series. He was shot on the streets of Milwaukee.

He came here today because he went looking for his brother – who froze to death today.  With temperatures of below freezing tonight, he didn’t know where else to go.  We jack up the heat in our homes, we bundle up when we go out into the frigid weather but without our help more homeless people will freeze to death because they have to find a warm spot in the streets of Milwaukee.

Call to action : do something for people like him.  Put a larger amount in a red kettle, donate to the Milwaukee rescue mission, bring extra clothing to repairs of the breach to help the homeless beat this deadly cold front. And if you can’t afford to pray that others can!

About calls to action

This blog was set up as proof of the personal spiritual nature of my marriage and foundational couple beliefs. It is in no way connected to the nonprofit that follow the beginnings of this page. My calls to action are designed to clarify my husband's ministry focuses as a humanitarian.
